To The Graduating Class Of 2018

Hearty congratulations! You must all be overflowing with indescribable joy. All those years of hard work and perseverance finally led to this day.

The dream of a college education brought you to BIT International College, where, you met people who patiently, devotedly and unselfishly mentored and guided you, where you met equally-passionate young people nurturing and chasing dreams. I hope that those meetings led to strong friendships that will sustain you in your journeys ahead and fill your chest box with memories.

The dream of a college education brought forth other dreams: to become an accountant, a licensed criminal justice practitioner or teaching or health professional, a mariner, and a lawyer. Once you hold these prized titles and certificates, you will realize that there are more to dream of. There will always be beginnings and endeavors, challenges and chapters to write. Most certain is the plot of your story twisting in many unimaginable ways. Don’t stop trying; don’t stop learning. There are no failures, only mistakes. Learn from those mistakes. Have the humility to pick up the pieces and then embark on another journey.

Cherish those days of scarcity and hunger, those times when rain fell hard or soothingly soft. How you managed those days are what your BIT IC education was all about. It was not about grumbling over long queues. It was about making do with what you had, and overcoming obstacles. It is about sustenance and transformation, for the better, for others, and for the community. Ask not what BIT IC could have done for you, but for what you could have done for people around you.

Cherish the memories at BIT IC, both good and bad. You can’t relive your life by skipping the awful parts, without losing what made it worthwhile.

We will always be here at BIT IC waiting for you, thinking of you, cheering for you, praying for you on your journeys ahead!

Safe travels.

FROM THE BIT INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE FAMILY

Especially from the family of BIT IC Founders, Vice-Governor and Atty. Dionisio D. Balite, PhD and Mrs. Lilia A. Balite.

Go Beyond Academic Scholarship Program (GBASP)

Graduating Senior High School Students Vying for BIT IC’s Go Beyond Academic Scholarship Program (GBASP)

On February 24, sixty-five graduating senior high school students from different parts of Bohol arrived at BIT International College Main Campus in Tagbilaran City to take the 2018 Go Beyond Academic Scholarship Qualifying Examinations.

Exactly a week ago, thirteen students came to take the same qualifying examinations at BIT IC Tagbilaran and eight at BIT IC Talibon.

The students were tested on mathematics and English, and were made to write a personal essay on “The Road Less Travelled.” In math, the students were tested on algebra, trigonometry, analytical geometry, discrete math, and basic calculus.

The Go Beyond Academic Scholars who will qualify for any degree program in BIT IC Tagbilaran will occupy the highest tier among BIT Scholars, and will qualify for a 100% tuition fee discount. They will all be schooled at the Main Campus of BIT IC and will be provided with free textbooks and course materials. Above all, they will be mentored by an elite corps of BIT IC faculty and take honors classes during their first two years.

The 1st cohort of Go Beyond Scholars will be announced before the end of March.

The creation of the GBASP is in line with BIT IC’s mission of providing affordable college education especially to the marginalized youth of Bohol and the neighboring provinces. It fortifies the commitment of its Board of Trustees, headed by its founders, Bohol Vice-Governor Atty. Dionisio D. Balite and his wife, Mrs. Lilia A. Balite, to equality of opportunity, and nurture the capabilities of young people to become AGENTS OF CHANGE in their communities.

In the recent past years, BIT International College has been offering generous tuition fee discounts to all its students across the board.

Go Beyond!

BIT International College Hosts Welcome Dinner for CVRAA Delegation from Siquijor Province

BIT International College Hosts Welcome Dinner for CVRAA Delegation from Siquijor Province

As a gesture of genuine Boholano hospitality, the BIT International College led by President Emeritus and Bohol Vice-Governor Atty. Dionisio D. Balite, PhD, and wife Dr. Lilia A. Balite, and the members of its Board of Trustees, hosted a welcome dinner for the delegation of the Province of Siquijor to the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVRAA). The Siquijor delegation that attended the welcome dinner was headed by Vice Governor Mei Ling M. Quezon, some provincial board members and Siquijor Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ronald Gutay.

During the dinner, the visitors were entertained by songs and dances from the BIT IC Performing Arts.

One of the BIT IC schools is the Balite Institute of Technology in Siquijor, one of the links that bring the two island provinces of Bohol and Siquijor closer.

It is to be noted that a good number of students in BIT IC especially in the Maritime Department hail from Siquijor.
